SUKU sheets come freshly pre-washed and pre-shrunk so they are ready for snuggly bedtime action tonight! When it's time to launder, just follow these simple care instructions to keep your new sheets looking new.

Bamboo fabric is a resilient, super soft, breathable and absorbent fabric perfect as bed sheets. With any natural fabrics, fibres can break down if not treated with the proper care. Bamboo fibres are shorter than cotton, so washing in hot water can cause the linens to pill.  Bamboo linens are best cared for by washing in cold water on a gentle cycle. You can also prevent fabric pilling by washing your duvet and pillow covers inside-out with like colours and non-abrasive materials on a shorter wash cycle.  Do your sheets and the environment a favour, always wash in cold water!

Because bamboo has naturally anti-microbial properties; there is no need to worry that washing in cold water and mild detergent won’t thoroughly clean your linens. Look for natural laundry detergents that are free of bleach, phosphates, and heavy fragrances or phthalates. These chemicals can break down the composition of the bamboo fibres and your sheets won’t last as long as they should.  Fabric softener is also not recommended as it may leave a film of residue on the surface of the fabric. Keep your SUKU sheets their softest without the harsh chemicals.

Whenever possible, you should try to line-dry your sheets. Not only does it save electricity, money and energy, but it also helps extend the life of your bedding. For best results, keep your SUKU sheets out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to the sun can fade the natural plant & vegetable dyes. If you simply can’t stand the feel of air dried sheets, try drying them on the line for a few hours, and then finish them in the dryer for 10-20 minutes. When using the dryer, make sure you tumble dry on delicate or permanent press on the lowest temperature setting.

Great news - you don't have to iron your sheets! Besides, who has the time for that? But if feel so inclined, remember to keep your iron on the lowest steam setting. Again, avoid putting too much heat into the bamboo fabric and it will last much longer. You will find that most wrinkles fall out naturally when the linen is placed back on the bed or slept in overnight. We just love the slept-in look!

Sweet dreams!
